BA -

Bank - A bank is a company that provides financial services. There are a number of banks available, and which one to use really comes down to the one with which you feel most comfortable. Their services range from providing a facility to save money to loaning money and providing credit cards and stock market brokering. A student will primarily use a bank to provide a safe place for saving and/or storing their money, providing loans and providing credit cards. In order to use such banking facilities you must first open a bank account. This involves visit your nearest branch and asking for a bank account form. This can be filled in with the helps of a bank clerk. When you have opened an account you will be given an account number which corresponds to the newly opened account. The account number is confidential, known only by you and your bank and should be kept this way. Once you have an account you can access your money in various ways, typically using a cheque, debit card or credit card.

Bank Balance - Your bank balance represents the amount of money you currently have in your bank account. Your bank balance is available to you via your bank statement or by using a cash machine to print a mini statement. Your bank statement will be sent to you at monthly or quarterly intervals. Note that the balance may not be accurate if you have taken money out after your statement was printed. A mini statement on the other hand will normally be accurate to one day when showing your bank balance. You balance will rise and fall as money is debited and credited to and from your account.

Bank Holiday - These are public holidays within the United kingdom, where you do not have to work. Everyone in employment is entitled to Bank Holidays in addition to his or her annual leave.

Bank Statement - This is the document you receive from your on a monthly basis that describes the state of your account (balance, etc). It will detail every to your account (money that has been added) and every (money taken out).
