Income Support - This is financial support given to those over the age of 16 if that person does not have an income nor savings over a certain amount, and have no other means of support (i.e no working parents, spouses, guardians).

Income Tax - This a percentage of your earnings that is taken by the government to pay for national services. The amount depends on how much you earn and is graded by earning bands.

Individual Presentation - An individual presentation is undertaken by one student to assess the their ability to work unaided. Successfully completing an individual presentation requires the student to efficiently and effectively use their time, obtain all the information needing to be presented, get acquainted with any equipment i.e. overhead projector and to make time for practice.

Industrial Placement - Short-term employment for students during their course allowing them to gain experience and ‘take a break from studying’, lasting from 6 months to 1 year. They are usually paid, although not at market rates. Placements are taken during a college or University course primarily to give the student valuable work experience in their chosen field.

Internet - The , a huge source of information, entertainment and services provided via your PC, mobile phone (WAP) or television. Can be very difficult to find the information that you require sometimes, due to the amount of Internet sites currently available.

Internet Banking - Banking on the , which has its advantages and disadvantages. Many banks now offer Internet banking which enables you to check your balance on the web, and also allows you to view information on accounts without ever having to leave your chair. However, some that are solely Internet based will be able to offer you possible better rates, because they do not have to pay overheads on buildings. The disadvantages may be security concerns, or that you have not got instant access to your money.

The job of the invigilator is to ensure that each student conducts his or her exam in an ethical manner. They will look out for students who require explanation of the exam instructions, require extra paper and to ensure that no cheating or disrupting is being undertaken.
