Introduction
Taking a gap year can be very beneficial. It provides you with time to make the right unhurried decisions regarding your career and enables you
to travel, undertake voluntary work or just take it easy. Ideally you will be looking to do something which can be seen as a positive step by your
future employer (and most parents). A year with no or little salary may be difficult financially, but if you get the balance right, a little work,
travel and fun will make the step of starting your career more enjoyable.
